Kidney Donation
Kidney donation is a very personal decision and there is a lot to consider. A great place to learni more about the living-donor transplant process can be found here on the Mayo Clinic's website. The Mayo Clinic has a wealth of information about kidney donation covering everything from testing to recovery.
The Mayo Clinic is where Noal will receive his transplant and where all potential donors would start the process by registering and then completing the health history questionnaire for a free and confidential evaluation.
Donors are carefully screened to evaluate living donor candidates. This screening is conducted confidentially by a separate team of healthcare professionals. Their job is to help a potential conor understand the risks and benefits and look out for YOUR best interests. Because the process is confidential, Noal won't know anything, unless the donor chooses to tell him.
